How Is The North Responsible After The Civil War

A collection of adversities and disagreements served as a great window into the beginning of the Civil War. It was evident that the Southerners wanted to preserve slavery but what exactly was the Northerners fighting for? The North wanted to preserve the Union that was created by the ratification of the Constitution. Rendering enemies in one country was not the intention of the North. The secession of the South after the election of Abraham Lincoln as president was a spark to the tumult. If the subject of secession was in the constitution, there most likely wouldn’t have been a belligerent war. The United States would not have been a prosperous and secure country as it is today if the country would have been divided into two. The rebellion that was started by the South persuaded the Northerner administration that they have no power to stop the secessionists and save the Union. The Constitution was to protect the people.
