How St. Lawrence Changed My Life

I personally know that I have changed as a person. During 8th grade I was a bad kid which would make trouble throughout the school day. As graduation came closer i felt the need to change my ways and become a better person. My father had once told me about St. Lawrence and how he went there for his high school years. After hearing about what the school offers I felt it would be a good choice for me. I am thankful for choosing St. Lawrence as my high school because it has changed me over the years into who I am today. My first year at St. Lawrence was a rough year since I was a trouble maker. By January I had five detention which were three hours long and I had to reflect on what I did. Some activities made me think of my actions and what I had done in the past. For instance, students had a group meeting to go to every Wednesday and it is for students to talk about bad actions you have done in the past. On Sundays my parents would come to the school to visit me and I hated when they came because I would always leave them in a bad mood. I would always tell my parents not to come to my school and I would say it very rudely. I did not want to deal with my parents for the whole year, I just wanted to focus on myself.
I had a better attitude and was more of a gentlemen. When it came to seeing adults, teachers, staff, elderly and even my own friends I felt good to be polite and show my respect. On holiday breaks students went home for a specific amount of days. When I was home and my parents told me to do chores or walk the dogs I would usually groan and complain but now when i'm told to do the task, that I feel delighted to do. When it came to meeting new people, it was easy for me to keep a conversation with them. St. Lawrence had taught me to treat others the way you want to be treated, and I took this phrase very seriously and applied it to my life, with how I think and
