How Sweet Pete S Made A Profit

Profit sweet Pete’s Paper In order for a business to work in a partnership the work load needs to be divided equally. If one partner is taking advantage of the other the business will never work. This does nothing but create controversy while adding stress and non-efficient work. Like in the case of Sweet Pete’s when one partner is lazy and does not care as much as the other it cannot work. Pete and his wife are the ones putting in all of the hard work while their partner just sits back and barely works and gets by. They were also lacking the execution of the plan as well as organization. It is no wonder why this business has had nothing but net losses over the past few years. When partners can’t cooperate with each other or one puts in more work than the other the business will simply just not work. Marcus Lemonis was able to come in and completely change the idea of the company as well as getting them to work together and with no surprise he turned the business around and Sweet Pete’s started turning a profit.
What I am looking for from my proposed business with my team is a sufficient business that is well run and very organized. Having an effective plan as well as maintaining organization is vital to a business’s success. I would also like for all work to be divided with each member contributing equally. We need to avoid group conflict as well as missing deadlines and miscommunication. It is important for each member to maintain communication with the group this way each member stays in the loop and knows which direction our business is going. Success to me looks like money. I would not consider myself successful unless my business was turning a profit while having everyone working efficiently and effectively. If I had a partner like Pete did I would not tolerate it. I would have him/her removed from the business and move on. A business cannot be successful with workers that are no longer motivated

The article, “The Devil’s Own Wine Shoppe” revolves around the wine store owned by Bruce Nelson and his wife, Mary Lee. Being a business owner has been a life-long dream of Bruce. They opened the wine store in August 1974 with initial capital of $22,000 and an initial outlay of $17,258. In addition to owning the wine store, Bruce works fulltime as a car salesman while Mary Lee divides her time between working at the wine store and running the household. Bruce and Mary Lee have been placed in a position where they must decide if they should close the wine store, Bruce quit his fulltime job and devote his time completely to the wine store, hire additional help so that Mary Lee no longer has to work at the wine store, or continue as they are—Bruce dividing his time between the dealership and wine store and Mary Lee dividing her time between the wine store and home. The decision is contingent on Bruce and Mary Lee being able to transform the financial position of the wine store at it is currently operating at a loss.…

The other type of business that I could have chosen is a partnership this where they is between 2 and 20 partners. The advantage is that there is shared work, as well as different skills and abilities and the ideas that they have can be consulted and developed. The disadvantage of this a partnership is that the profits are shared, as well as all ideas and decisions must be consulted and agreed by all of the partners. Another disadvantage is that there is unlimited liability that is to all of the partners.…

The motivation theories used in Two Men and a Lot of Trucks are the Expectancy Theory and the Equity Theory. With having the motto “To treat others as you would want your Grandma treated.” the company is expecting the owners and employees to treat customers with respect as well as their belongings, therefore causing the customers to be satisfied and to refer other friends to use the services of Two Men and a Truck. With the Equity Theory the company has set up a computer lab where franchisees can compare data of other franchisees and communicate about what is working and what is not. Mary Ellen Sheets approach to creating high-performing teams was to be the best out there. She came up with a moving company to move clients within city limits or short distances, and by charging by the hour instead of by the pound. She also made sure everything was spotless and her employees were in clean uniforms. She guaranteed the work done, and followed up with any complaints that were made and resolved them.…

purpose, without it teams are lost just like boat without helm. A team’s purpose is determined by considering the company’s vision, mission and values as well as their own. By considering and trying to align with the company’s vision the teams own purpose should not risk conflict or failure. Each team member should have input into the teams purpose, as this will result in a shared purpose which will build a happier more productive team.
