How These Bible Verses Affect Me.
The Bible is a written collection of scriptures with divine inspiration to be lead and guided by the Holy Spirit. I can say that these Sacred Scriptures of God are representations of our life. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” -Proverbs 18:21 Every word that comes out from our mouth is powerful enough to make an impact on our life. In my own experience, I have witnessed the agony and the pain that pinches my heart every time others utter vile words without considering my feelings. Deep inside, dejection and sadness swallow up my entire being alive. Sure, jokes are funny, but there are times that they have completely crossed the line. From then on, I told myself, ‘I must stand up and fight for myself.’ That is why every time I see people bullied by others; I was like glaring at my own reflection. I know what they feel. Ergo, I should help and reach out my hand for them. Whilst on the other hand, I realized that I myself too should also be mindful and watchful of the words I say, for my actions, words, and deeds will come back to me. They will reflect on my personality and will describe who I really am. As stated in the Golden Rule: “Do not do unto other what you don’t want others do unto you”. “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - Romans 8:38-39 As I venture my journey, my life, obstacles keep on blocking my way. As I step farther, hurdles and trials hinder me from going to the right path. Along my way, I may often trip and even fall flat onto the ground;

    Challenges can influence the way a person thinks and understands a complicated situation. Everyone goes through rough patches and struggles in their lives. People go through grief, addiction, loneliness, pain and all kinds of hardships through important points in their lives. What defines most of us and makes us who we are however, are these tragic and painful moments of struggle. The Other Wes Moore by Wes Moore taught me that my own struggles and obstacles shouldn’t and cannot ever bring me down. In the introduction of the novel, Wes Moore says that “…our destinies can be determined by a single stumble down the wrong path, or a tentative step down the right one.” His statement has truly spoken to my soul, to inspire me to truly never give up and to never surrender to paths that will permanently pull me down.…

    If you see someone getting bullied for something they can’t help, you should say something. Making fun of someone for something they can’t help is wrong and you should stand up for that person. Helping someone out is the right thing to do. You wouldn’t want to be picked on and nobody stand up for you. Like in the story “Angel in Disguise”, it talks about how nobody wanted this little girl because she was sick.…

    William F Buckley quoted “If all difficulties were known at the outset of a long journey most of us would never start at all”. This quote relates to journeys, specifically to inner journeys with the intention that many journeys are difficult and if individuals knew how difficult the journey was going to be, then most of us would not even commence the journey. A journey is simply a movement from one place to another. Physical journeys are gateways to inner journeys, which is a journey of the mind and spirit. Inner journeys take place when an individual experiences events or is involved in relationships that act as a catalyst to gain greater understanding about themselves and the world. Inner journeys can be deliberately initiated, but is usually the result of new circumstances where the individual changes themselves or their perspective of themselves, others or the world.…

    Eleanor Roosevelt, Former First Lady of the USA, once stated, “Do what you feel in your heart to be right, for you’ll be criticized any ways.” I find this quote to be so inspiring because many don’t want to voice their opinion to not contradict other people’s belief. This quote also relates to me because I am a leader and have dealt with the issue of being scrutinized for my own beliefs. When I was younger, I was a bystander of bullying because I feared to be the next victim. I never stood up to the bully nor helped the victim. However, I soon learned not voicing my opinion lead to the bully becoming stronger and victimizing more people. I realized that if no one stood up there wouldn't be no change. So one day, I stood up to this bully. This small action lead to everyone else joining and putting a stop…

    Every day, somewhere in the world, someone is getting bullied and it’s your choice whether or not to do something about it. Most people choose to stay out of harm’s way if they’re not the one getting bullied and few people choose to stand up for themselves if they are the one bullied. I believe that helping or asking for help is the only way to solve a bullying problem. The reason why people choose not to say anything is because they’re scared of what might happen. The “consequence” of telling on someone is what most people think about first, so why put yourself in a place where you don’t need to be right? If it’s not your problem then it’s not a problem to you at all? These thoughts are the reasons why bullying is never stopped.…

    Everyone in the world has had to overcome some kind of obstacles in their life. Obstacles can be a very small or even a very big thing in our everyday lives. For example, an obstacle could be if you have enough money to buy milk to having to overcome being homeless and struggling to get through life all alone. People typically learn from their own life obstacles or maybe even from reading about someone else’s obstacles in their life. Nobody wants to have to overcome any obstacles or have any troubles in our lives but it is just a part of making our lives better from what it was like before. I have learned about many obstacles from many books and movies such as: The Mighty, Of Mice and Men, and A Child Called “It”.…
