The Vietnam War, though very unpopular with the American people, demonstrated the very fiber of our nation's military. On September 11, 2016, we'll mark the 15th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks on our soil and, on December 7, 2016, we will observe the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. These events were turning points in our nation's history and the sacrifices made by service members and civilians should absolutely be remembered. This Memorial Day, as we gather at picnics and family celebrations at the beginning of summer, we need to also acknowledge the commitment and daily sacrifice of all current and former service members. Recognition of these valiant Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, and Coast Guard personnel should not be taken lightly. Offering a genuine "Thanks for your service" is
