How To Write A Persuasive Memo
How to write a persuasive Memo:
Memos are inter-office documents. It literally means to remember something or keeping it in mind and should not be longer than 2 pages. They are typically used to inform a group of people about a specific issue, an event, policy and encourage them to take action.
Most effective memos have certain characteristic which are:
Concise- very much to point and brief
Emphasis towards reader
Organized – design and page layout should be reader friendly.
Actionabilty- needs steps to be taken immediately
Also every Memo has standard fields such as sender, receiver, date and subject heading. All memos should be brief and the professional tone is set in the subject line.
It can have 3 paragraphs starting with
Statement paragraph- tells you directly about the subject line. Very specific.
Statement or Summary paragraph -tells the reader more about the purpose of this memo. It’s the longest paragraph and tries to justify the reason or certain actions being taken by company.
Closing paragraph - tries to connect with the reader in a formal yet firm way. Persuades the targeted audience to take actions and follow it quickly.
