Dear Financial Aid,
I am writing to appeal my suspension of my federal aid after havin difficult fall semester. My low GPA fail to meet the requirements of your college to remain an active student on campus. I take full responsibility for my actions and realize that I am at fault for being in this position. Throughout the duration of my fall semester I endured many trials and tribulations that gravely affected my academic performance. One picking a difficult schedule that required a lot of reading from all four classes and I just felt overwhelmed. To prevent a worse semester I drop two classes to save my GPA. But I was still unsuccessful of bringing up my GPA. I regret not being able to maintain 2.5 GPA because of me picking challenging classes in one semester. My goal in 2013 is to pick classes that will not interfere with one another and raise my GPA. I would like to earn a degree in my field of education. Without financial aid I lack the ability to do this. I am a hard working student and the upcoming semester will prove so. Please understand that my poor academic performance that led to my dismissal doesn’t define me as a bad student. I’m a determined student who strives to graduate from a school that experienced one horrible semester. I am willing to commit to reach the minimum 2.5 GPA, and to following my Educational Plan. Thank you for taking the time to consider my appeal, I hope that I may prove myself in the upcoming semester. Thank you for the chance for appeal, and please consider appealing the dismissal.

Sincerely Yours,
Eric

Andrew was working in a local law firm in Manhattan that was started and owned by his father. He had followed in his father’s footsteps and rose through the ranks to become one of the most prominent defense lawyers in Manhattan (Fields 12). It only took him four years to be a senior partner in the firm. His client-network had spread throughout the country that he travelled a lot to defend suspects. Andrew’s career was experiencing an upward trajectory, and people looked up to him as a role model. He was one of the highest earning lawyers in the state. The bio/psycho/social model stipulates that “mental disorder can be attributed to many biological, psychological and social variables that work in tandem to produce healthy or unhealthy behavior” (Kearney & Trull, 2015, p. 47). The problem with this model is that it does not take into account that each human person has a free will gifted to them from God. Free will allows human beings to be the authors of their own actions instead of believing that external conditions control them.…

I am appealing my financial aid suspension because of difficulty completing my courses. Last semester was my third at KU. I believe that my lack of focus due to having an unannounced 4 year old daughter I just discovered in October of last year and my grandma died soon after. My past records show I have met the Satisfactory Academic Progress I just had a bad semester due to personal issues. Personal issues of this sort are very rare that’s why I feel I should be given another shot at my financial aid. I feel it’s a privilege to even have it since everyone is not able to get it. Without financial aid I would not be able finish my career of running or my educational success at The University of Kansas.…

Dear Esteemed Members of the Admissions Committee:I am submitting a letter of petition for readmission for the Fall 2011 term. I was dismissed from the university in 2005 for poor academic performance. Upon my entrance into the university I have always been very studious which has led me to excel academically throughout the years. When I began my studies at --- I was ignorant of so many things. I didnt really pick up on college regulations and penalties comfortably until my sophomore year. It was then when I learned that I unfortunately didnt drop a class I thought I had dropped. I learned my lesson and became very familiar with the college catalog at that point. During my enrollment at ----, I truly tried my best but it was not good enough. I was devastated to see how I was performing when I knew I was capable of doing better. I graduated 3rd in my class with a 4.2 on a 4 scale. I had never performed so poorly, EVER! As depressing as this was for me I never gave up. I kept striving for better results but in the end I had to face reality. When I was dismissed from the university I blamed myself for my failures. I was too proud to admit that there were underlying causes that led to such a poor performance on my behalf. When there are problems in my life I usually find ways to deal with them without making them known. Ive re-evaluated the situation and have come to the conclusion that I was in denial of the issues my medical condition was causing me. I am a type 1 diabetic which was not under its best control during my enrollment. I never wanted to admit that it was causing me problems but I realize that it needs to be known and I should not be ashamed of it. My health caused me to be in an uncontrollable state of drowsiness constantly. On some occasions it required hospitalization. There were times I woke up on my floor confused and out of touch with reality. The hospital became my second home. It seemed as if I wasnt at school or the dormitory I was in the…

I, Kourtney Brooks, am writing to you in hopes that the decision of me being ineligible for financial aid due to not maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2.0 can be appealed due to extenuating circumstances. Entering into the spring semester, due to my performance in the Fall I knew there was a lot of work to be done. In the Fall, after being out of college for a few years I had to get acclimated to working and going to school full time, not to mention online schooling, which is something I hadn’t experienced before, but due to having to work to take care of myself I made the decision to try it because I know in order to truly excel in life I have to further my education. Nonetheless, I went into the spring semester a stronger student due to the mistakes in the semester that instilled the strength and…

The reasons behind the traditions and expectations goes further back than just the 1800’s when Americans applied rituals to their daily lives. Religion also prompts the expectations and restraints that society places on itself. Gods and goddesses (depending on the religion) have a significant impact on people's lives as people tend to follow the rules set by their religious beliefs. The Kelsey Museum of Archaeology exhibit on women and gender in ancient Egypt depicts goddesses as queens, child bearers, protectors of the gods and some severed merely as characterless consorts to the gods, while the men tended to be gods. Traditionally, it is imperative that women assume an inferior role as opposed to men in a society that is governed by…
