According to Eva Hart, a Titanic Survivor. On the evening of April 14, the White Star Line RMS Titanic was approaching an area known for having icebergs. Then all of the passengers feel a little shake, the ship had just crashed into an iceberg, at 11:40 P.M. At 2:18 a.m the 7.5 million dollar ship (174 million dollars today) had just split into two pieces, and two minutes later there was no sight of the Titanic. At 2:20 A.M. the the RMS Titanic was now lost to the Atlantic Ocean, 1,503 people died on the unsinkable ship, they were taken from their families, all because of a mistake. Historians today say there are many theories to why it sank, but only one reason is to blame for the Titanic being lost to the ocean. In a consequence, The Titanic sunk. The Titanic was trying to beat the Olympic. The faster he went the sooner he got to shore there was no time to lose in his mind. He received many warnings that there were icebergs in the area, but he wouldn’t stop or at least go slower. He just had to beat the other ship. If he would of gone the normal speed and not try to beat another ship we would not of lost
