Thank you for being here this evening; and thank you for your involvement with PHCC. Your service and membership is deeply appreciated by all.
I am especially honored to be joined by members of my family – both formal and extended – who have served as mentors, guides, sometimes chaperones… but constantly supportive throughout my life.
I would like to take a moment to thank our current President of CA PHCC, Geno Caccia, for his leadership this past year, which he executed with skill and¬ composure despite several challenges. I was extremely fortunate to have worked closely with Geno on several significant issues, and I can attest that he is a hardworking, intelligent, and dedicated professional. CA PHCC has truly benefitted from his contributions as President. Thank you, Geno, for your leadership, guidance and commitment. …show more content…
I’d also like to acknowledge and thank Tracy Threlfall for all her hard work as Executive Vice President of CA PHCC.
Her presence is deeply missed. We are extremely grateful to have had her insight, abilities, and immense talent working on behalf of the organization. We wish her the best in her journey moving forward.
So, while our road ahead is exciting, it is not without challenge. I want to assure you that I am dedicated to finding a committed, engaged, and enthusiastic Executive Director for CA PHCC. I have worked with Geno to select an Interim Director who will both lead the day-to-day activities of headquarters, as well as assist the search for our permanent Executive Director. I truly appreciate the trust you’ve put in me to fill this position, and welcome communication from members regarding the process.
I am honored to be your 112th President and I commit to you today my vigorous dedication to our members, our society, and our profession. I will work tirelessly to champion for members and collaborate with local chapters to drive PHCC
forward.
I first became involved with PHCC _____ . (Describe your experience with the organization, and your rise to Vice Pres last year)
In 2016, we expanded our efforts to educate future tradesmen, advocate in the legislature on behalf the industry, and develop initiatives to strengthen our organization and our local communities.
In 2017 you will hear me speak directly about three things quite a bit:
• enhancing our educational programs, including augmenting our online classes;
• continued focus on expanding our Copper for Kids and Ride and Decide programs;
• growing membership by enhancing membership value.
(then elaborate on each a bit; I can help find talking points for you or we can change completely)
Finally, I would challenge every one of you to engage to make 2017 a year of growth - your local chapter needs your ideas and your energy! I urge you to connect with local contractors who are not yet members of PHCC, and explain how membership has been beneficial to you. PHCC seeks to represent the trade overall and, through the support of its members and local chapters, can influence legislation and provide immense resources to members. A notable example occurred just recently - with an informative webinar and frequent updates, PHCC helped members comply with the new Dept. of Labor Overtime Rule that went into effect December 1, 2016. Engaging your local community and involving them in your local chapter can have immense benefits to individual members and the organization overall.
My friends and colleagues, I thank you for this incredible opportunity to lead CA PHCC, and thanks to all that have come before me in this respected position and given so much of their time and expertise. I thank our Board of Directors and all our volunteer leaders for what you do every day. And to our members, I want to issue the biggest thanks - we would be nothing without you.
