Van Horn Influence On National Honor Society

Although I only officially became President of Van Horn’s National Honor Society in May; I’ve already learned more about being a leader within the community. Community, service, leadership and scholarship have become permanent fixtures in my life. As President I have also become closer to my community and my fellow classmates. Everyday I am influenced by their leadership and commitment to Van Horn. It’s been difficult because I’ve never had to guide my classmates and ensure that their experience in an activity is positive. As well as making sure they don’t get off topic, which they tend to do on a frequent basis. I hope I have influenced them nearly as much as they have influenced me. Through National Honor Society I have become closer
with not only every member but with myself. They've taught me that I can make a difference in the world as a whole by just being myself. Honestly, National Honor Society has been the most hectic part of my senior year. With an adviser who is insane, busy student officers, brilliant students and an organization that I’ve come to love. National Honor Society has influenced my future to be bright, and full of passion towards my community.
