I am often described as an honest person, willing to speak the truth, even when it may be challenging or unpopular. I believe that as a leader it is important to be truthful with people in order to show you care about their well-being and communicate properly. Throughout my years of competitive swimming, my friends have come to me in search of feedback on technique because they know I will give them constructive criticism. This shows how much I care about them; not only do I want to succeed, I want them to succeed as well. Due to my willingness to confront injustice and take action, others describe me as a confident leader. For the past two years I have seen the emotional struggle that hundreds of families have faced through my work at the Ronald McDonald House. Because of this, I have dedicated my time to preparing and serving them dinner on a monthly basis. While working at the House, my peers noticed my willingness to do any task that needed to be done because I was confident in my ability to learn something new, no matter how difficult it may be.
