RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This chapter discussed about the manner by how the study will be conducted. This includes the research design, locale, respondents and the sampling design.

Research Design

The study is a quantitative - descriptive research about the level of satisfaction in using IBM Lotus Notes among the employees of Pioneer Insurance Company. The study used survey questionnaires to gather primary data.

Locale

Pioneer Insurance Company is the consistently charted insurance milestones for over half a century through its main arms of life and non-life insurance. The researchers will conduct a survey in the Lipa and Makati Branch. The Lipa branch is located at 3rd floor, MVL Centre, National Road, Paninsingin, Tambo, Lipa City 4217, Batangas. The numbers of employees in both branches are at 200 personnel.
Sampling Design

Random sampling was used in the study. The formula below was used to determine the number of people that the researchers need to make the survey reliable:

n = N 1 + Ne2

Where:
N = no. of population of employees in Pioneer Insurance Company (Lipa and Makati branch) (500) e = margin of error (5%)

n = 500 1 + (200) (0.0025)

n = 222.22 or 222

Respondents

The respondents were the employees from Pioneer Insurance Company Lipa and Makati branch. The employees belonging to Managerial and Regular positions were surveyed based from the topic of the study, which is the employees’ level of satisfaction on the use of IBM Lotus Notes.
Data Gathering Procedure

The respondents were asked to answer the questionnaires personally given to them by the researchers. Two parts of the questionnaire are provided to each respondent. Part I of the survey intended to gather the respondents’ profile in terms of Age, Gender, Number of years in service and their Current position in the company. Part II of the survey intended
