With all of the duties that carers must take care of, they begin to struggle under the weight of the issues. The carer may become more stressed with the amount of commitment and how they are heavily relied on. Stress is a physiological feeling of being strained or pressured and can result in lack of concentration and motivation. As shown in figure 2, carers suffer from not only stress, but stress related illnesses as well. These illnesses include heart disease, high blood pressure, mental health problems and chronic fatigue (Carers NSW, 2017). All of these illnesses are able to mentally and physically as well as socially affect the carer, making their position as carer strained. The recommendation would allow medical profession and other carers to work together to provide accurate information mental health illnesses and the ways that young carers are able to overcome them. The only information that is available for the carers is minimal quotation from other carers who have experience similar issues. By having medical professional provide detailed information and statistics, instead of non-medial practitioners providing advice it will increase the amount of young carers being able to handle their mental health illness.
