1. What was the result of your IAT? Do you think that the test produced valid results in your case?
My result was that I Prefer European American over African Americans; it wasn’t a strong difference, only 27 percent as you see. I do not think this test is accurate; it’s quite weird if you ask me. I do not like the whole pairing test because typo’s happen and one part of your brain works fast. They have this test where they have the word Blue but the color is red, so you have to say that but its hard since both parts of your brain do different things for you.
2. In your opinion, is it difficult to accurately measure prejudice? Why or why not?
I do not think there is actual ways to measure it unless the person comes out clean themselves. It is one of those things that have to be based upon every person since everyone is different. I don’t always agree with tests like this anyways.
3. Describe other measurements sociologists utilize to calculate prejudice.
The Likert scale is the most commonly used measurement device used in sociological questionnaires. Items using a Likert scale aren't open-ended or posed in the form of questions though. They ask multiple different questions, ranging from how you feel about the different cultures to if they moved into your neighborhood. They are always agree or disagree questions though so you answer in a quick based form when your first instinct is your
