Importance Of Legalising Gay Marriage In Australia

The time has come to legalise gay marriage in Australia. Gay marriage is marriage between two people of the same gender. I believe all Australians have the right to be able to get married despite what gender,race and religion they're. A basic human right is that every grown up has the right to marry but why is that only that a man and a woman can do so not man and man or woman and woman.Why is it that?If you love someone it shouldn't matter what gender they're but somehow it dose.

At the moment in Australia there is something called a civil union.A civill union is a marriage like arrangement.It was created to allow gay couple to publicly commit without the permission to marry. Only in Australia you're considered to be apart of a cicvil union other wise you're unrecognised as one.The definition of marriage means the union of a man and a woman to the exclusion of others voluntary entered into for life.So why not change this definition?Why not legalise gay marriage?No body should have the right to decide your fate if someone said to your face I'm sorry you can't marry this person just because of their gender how would you feel?

So why don't people want to legalise gay marriage?Some believe that the children who grow up with gay parents deserve to have a mother like figure
and a father like figure in their life instead they will have one or the other,But how is it effecting you if this child grows up with gay parents,how dose this restrain you from your everyday life.Some believe that by law marriage is between a woman and a man and it's a institution of the law and people shouldn't be messing around with it.I disagree to all of those who oppose to gay marriage to focus on themselves instead of tampering with others happiness and that we should all be treated equal and be able to marry who ever we want.

Why should others determine who you get to marry.If a man and a woman get married it's fine because it's the proper way but if a woman and a woman or a man and man get married it causes a big debate.More and more countries around the world have legalised gay marriage and are embracing it.Canada,Mexico,Spain,Denmark,New Zealand,Belgium and the United States are some of the places that have taken action and fought for what's right and legalised gay marriage.As a nation we need to take action and stick up for gay equality in Australia.
Marriage is about love,commitment and always supporting one anther we should all be accepting of our differences and embrace them instead of make them
illegal.
