Individual Rights Argument Against Gun Control
What would you say if you knew that there are more crimes with gun control than there is without it? Gun control is a terrible idea for society in so many ways that it’s not even funny. Because there will be those people out there that will figure out how to beat the system and keep guns in their possession, to harm a lot of people maybe even have a mass shooting. Well guess what and nobody else will have guns to protect their self’s or shoot that guy who’s start a mass shooting on a punch unarmed citizens. There is a bunch of data that proves that gun control increases the crime rates. Also conceal and carry helps with self-defense. And taking away guns is a horrible choice and it would be just plain stupid. hold that individuals have a right to keep and bear arms.” So gun control is detrimental to society because people should have a weapon to defend their self’s. So in the United States the crime rates have increased by a lot with gun control than without.
It has been a proven fact that the states with stricter gun control have increased the crime rate by a lot. That is happening because some people still have guns and the government are disarming everybody else which makes it easier to rob store gas stations and banks. “Although guns killed 35,957 people in 1995 the guns didn’t pull the trigger people did.”(Schmittroth 3) Most of those killings were from having gun control. If we got rid of gun control it would reduce the amount of crimes that go on in the United States. Most of the guns in the United States protect lives more than they take lives. But that only happens when there is no gun control. And handguns are perfect for women to keep in there purse to have for self-defense. But the government is trying to pass gun control which will leave most of the women defenseless. Which bad thing is that approximately 200,000 women in the United States use guns to protect themselves from sexual crimes every single year. And guns prevent more injures than they
inflict. One thing that helps with self-defense is conceal and carry a gun. Another reason why we don’t need gun control is, “We need to be equally practical in assessing our ability to carry and use a firearm in self-defense as we age.”(self-defense news) One think that I also think needs to be done is to take a safety test to be able to possess a weapon. That would be a lot better than passing gun control because we will still be able to keep our guns and help drop the crime rates down at the same time. And each person should only get two tries at the test. If they fail both times they shouldn’t be allowed to possess a weapon of any kind. Also another thing would be if you have any type of mental disorder shouldn’t be able to possess a weapon of any kind. I think that would be a great thing to do because a bunch of the big shootings happening in society now a day is a person that has some kind of mental disorder that caused them to what they did. But maybe some with not that bad of a mental disorder could take a safety test to be able to possess a weapon.
