I didn’t anyone personally with Lupus when I was 14 years old, and at 18 years old I still don’t. The community I share in is on a blogging site called Tumblr. There is a Tumblr community called “Spoonies” who encourage one another. I’m a Spoonie. When I was diagnosed with Lupus I was given a spoonie membership adjacent. A spoonie is someone who suffers from a chronic illness (like lupus) but hasn't allowed the illness define them. My community uplifts one another through memes, pictures, and encouraging posts. It’s not traditional, but I cherish it.
