Inspired By Ben Underwood
I think Ben Underwood and the video inspired me alot. The fact that he is blind and doesn't believe it is amazing. He has a great mind set and tells himself he is not blind and nothing is wrong with him is incredible. I think if a blind teenager can teach himself to see then anyone can do anything. They just have to have the right mindset. Ben Underwood doesn’t let anyone tell im he is blind. Ben’s story inspires me to do more things that people tell me I can’t do and it shows me that I can do things better than what I or others think. It makes me feel that I can succeed at anything and become better at anything. It shows me that I should not listen to others when they try to bring me down and say I can’t do something.
This video could inspire

He goes around to spread his life story. “Raised in Flint, Michigan, by parents who saw in his condition not a disability but an extraordinary opportunity.”( Imperfect: An Improbable Life) He tells all children out there with disabilities that they can do whatever they put their mind too… just like he did. Now if that wouldnt inspire someone to get up and fight, who knows what would. This truly is an unbelievable man with a heart to inspire others, just as big as his thirst to acquire…

Anger. He struggled with anger management issues, which led him to attempted harm of a friend, and his own mother, but faith and reasoning saved Ben Carson from his problems. Through faith, hard work, and diligence Carson overcame the odds of being a young african american male from a one parent home, and got accepted into one of the most prestigious universities in the country, and to later become one of the greatest neurosurgeons in the world. That's what appeals me about Ben Carson, not the fact that he was the first to separate two conjoined twins, not that fact that he won the Presidential Medal of Freedom, but the fact that he was like me and you, human. A human with his own personal struggles, but despite his situation, he overcame society’s expectations of people like him. He wasn’t willing to be what people expected of him, he wasn’t willing to blame his situation for his failure, he blamed himself, and worked hard to achieve success. That's why I am inspired by Dr. Ben Carson, because he overcame the odds, and his situations, and relied on his faith and hardwork to achieve…

In addition to the major themes of the book, another theme would be the power of words. This greatly impacts Frank when he gives his first speech. He did not consider it successful because the kids were not listening, they were critiquing him, and they did not care about what he had to say. Nevertheless, he received letters from the students thanking him for coming and demonstrating their appreciation for the speech. Frank did not believe they were truly expressing the gratitude he thought they were saying, rather he thought it was just an assignment the teacher had them do. This impression remained unaffected until he saw a letter that read, “I bet you had a long, boring ride back to Philly” (Meeink, 2010 p.248) At that moment he realized…

    Justina Ford Essay

Justina ford inspired me and an insane amount of others related to an African American woman to follow her dreams of being a doctor or whatever they dream of accomplishing. Also, she taught me to try even if there are obstacles trying to stop you . I am not African American or a woman so it would be easier for a man to work up to this kind of job, but this shows that women around the world are trying their hardest to accomplish an accomplishment no one else could think of achieving and to me that is extraordinarily inspiring. Also, she was the first African American woman to become a doctor and that shows me that if one woman can accomplish that then I would enjoy hearing more of what other women in this kind of situation can achieve in order…

Many people have had one person who has inspired them. They have changed their life very much the first day that they met. The person who has changed my life in the past couple years was my softball coach. She had us all work as hard as we could everyday. If we didn’t put in our best effort for a drill, she would have us start over and do it again. Coach Tash was motivated, committed, and helpful to everyone on the team.…

I learned many new things from this video. I learned that many people died in the black’s non-violent revolution for freedom and rights. I also learned that most African Americans were paid an average of only about $700. African Americans were denied education at all white schools, and were only allowed a less than average education at black schools. Under the Supreme Court ruling in Brown vs. Board of Education, a number of African American Honors students integrated Little Rock Central High School in 1957. Every day they had to endure abuse from a huge angry mob that protested integration and wanted segregation. I feel that I would not have been able to put up with all that abuse. Those nine students that integrated Central High had great determination and never gave up hope. I also learned that it was a very long and hard struggle for all blacks during the Civil Rights Movement. The KKK terrorized blacks and killed them. Many African Americans were killed before they won the rights that they deserve. I was very proud of all the African Americans that participated in things like the Montgomery bus boycott because it showed that they weren’t afraid of standing up for themselves. I felt joyful that they always had the courage to stay non-violent, because if they turned to violence, the situation would not have turned out the same way. Now I will do anything that I can to eliminate discrimination of anyone because it is a very serious and destructive…

Events like this is what pushed people to do more with their lives and stand for what they believe in. Dale Chihuly is handicap and wears an eye patch, however it does not let that stop him from doing what he loves. That is why his school of glass encourages people to use their handicaps as an advantage and to chase their dreams. This is significant because America is one of the few places where we allow for handicap people to excel so much. Many countries and cultures push people like Dale aside without a chance. This is why Dale is such a big role model to me.…

Ninety percent of climbers that attempt to summit Mount Everest do not succeed, several die each year. Erik Weihenmayer is in the ten percent who have reached the summit yet he was the only one in the world that did so without sight. In 2011 he competed in a reality show called Expedition Impossible and his group of three placed second overall. That showed many viewers that blind people are capable of doing what some sighted and many people cannot do. I believe he is a unique individual not only because he is blind and has overcome many physical challenges, but because there are not many people that have that kind of drive, toughness and the ability to inspire others while maintaining a sense of humility.…

With my ears plugged, my eyes were suddenly opened to see the difficulty of daily life for deaf/ hard of hearing people. On April 10th, 2014, I became hard of hearing for an entire day, and I truly believe it provided me with an accurate insight into the deaf culture. Although my experience was a single day, I saw my friends, family, and teachers change right it front of my face as if I changed into a “deaf, dumb, and blind” idiot. I will always remember this experience for the rest of my life.…
