Pope Francis once said ,“Even today we raise our hands against our brother… we have perfected our weapons, our conscience has fallen asleep and we have sharpened our ideas to justify ourselves as if it were normal that we continue to sow destruction,pain,death” to demonstrate the ways humanity has failed its people. Violence against other humans due to racial, sexual, or gender divides has been commonplace in the history of America. Such conflicts caused the emergence of Civil Rights Movements aimed to end segregation of the race, sexuality and gender. Every civil rights movement experiences oppression or adversity derived from the leader of the society they are protesting. Lyndon B Johnson, Ronald Reagan, and other presidents of the United States were primarily hostile towards Civil Rights proposals and as a result they created a society, or country that served those like the president, and did not allow room for diversity.
