In recent decades science and the practices derived from it has become much more collaborative and interdisciplinary. The Emerging trends that include merged disciplines such as functional medicine, psycho immunology, nursing anthropology and behavioural neuroscience among others are suggesting the need for an integrative and inter professional approach to meet the challenges faced by professionals navigating the complexities of health and social services. Terms that vary from multidisciplinary practices and inter professional collaboration, to inter professional education and trans- professional practice, have become the common language used across a range of social services and health providers around the globe. Inter-professional collaborative practices across different training institutes have synthesised the core competences including domains such as roles and responsibilities, inter-professional values and related ethics, inter-professional communication and teamwork (Inter-professional Education Collaborative Expert Panel. 2011). The development of these abilities in trainees and students requires moving beyond profession-specific educational efforts to engage students of different professions in interactive learning with each other. In the light of implementing IEP as a fundamental part of academic programmes, educators are now beginning to develop more systematic curricular designs for developing inter-professional
