As I continue to progress in rank, I will continue to possess the authority to lead and I will accept the obligations and requirements from my personal beliefs and regulations that are passed through my AF leadership. I will continue to work on my competence, character, and personality because those are the things that I have control over. I will show competence in my abilities and the decisions I make for my subordinates to follow. I will stay in good character by staying balanced in my decisions. I will always do the right thing even if it is not the most popular choice. As for personality, I will maintain my emotional maturity through self-awareness, self-management, social-awareness and relationship management. By applying all of these principles to my own leadership, I will be an easy leader to follow, and will help my subordinates trust me and have faith in me as I lead them through their careers. I utilize diagnosing to find out how my subordinates are doing and how they respond to various situations. By diagnosing their behavior, I can better determine future positions and jobs for them. Over the next three to five years, I will utilize the diagnosing step of diagnosing, adapting, and communicating to find problems within my unit. If I do not diagnose the problems first, I will never be able to adapt and communicate the results or actions needed. I will look at the morale, esprit de corps, discipline, and proficiency of my teams and subordinates to ensure that all of these are being taken care of. After I diagnose the issues, I will then adapt and communicate what can be done to improve my unit. I will ensure that all members see the needs of the unit, and understand why leadership is making the decisions they have chosen.
