The most common referral in our practice is for a therapist for scale and polish, filling, whitening teeth, radiographs or for extraction of deciduous teeth. Our therapist doesn’t have direct access and patients have to be referred to her. To refer a patient to the therapist, appointment need to be booked and therapy prescription placed on the top of the notes in patient file with description of the task required, e.g. s/p+ 2x bws (scale and polish and 2x bitewings radiograph required).
In the case patient require the care of a specialist, external referral is filled up by a clinician and send off by a receptionist.
