What I am proposing and what I have researched is that there should be a certain level of integration of education betwixt all of these highly regarded fields of employment and that this Interprofessional education (IPE) needs to occur and be lasting throughout the undergraduate and graduate paths of education to some degree. For once we have all risen through the ranks and achieved this mastery of respective fields, if we the specific few tasked to heal the sick and injured cannot appreciate and be well versed in our medical counterparts field and peers then it will only create barriers and medical rifts between the different fields of health and overall having a negative effect on the sole objective of anyone that has entered the health field, for the means of altruism by restoring the quality of life back into the …show more content…
Though some of these courses exist such as Medical Terminology and Anatomy/Physiology in the health sciences curriculum already. Even if the amount of general health education classes is not the issue, we should administer classes that show all fields of Health Science in an equally favorable light. This would undoubtedly inoculate the egos of certain students that may begin to look down on the others for having seemingly easier regiments of classes to go through. Also, if we can begin to promote more open discussion between the professions within these courses to show the relatability that some students might lose sight of in their undaunted quest to make the cut into their desired graduate, specialization, or secondary program. Once this is achieved we may, as the collective body of the health field, will be successful in the optimization of the quality of care and compassion to the patient. As a student in the aforementioned situation of attempting to achieve my academic goals it is very tempting for the thoughts of egocentrism o to drift in under the disguise of passion for my wanted profession. Tough it must be apparent to all in students following the same path that once the first wall of ego is knocked down through courses that show the Health Science community in a more interdependent light
