Tone and language
1. In this invitation letter, courtesy has been embodied. In the beginning of the letter, the sender has used ‘we are impressed by your…’ and ‘we are interested in…’ to state out why their university will choose to invite Dr. Stern to be their Visiting Professor. This can attract and give a good impression to the reader. In the body, ‘we cordially invite you to…’ and ‘we enthusiastically welcome you…’ also show courtesy of the sender.
2. The use you and your like ‘impressed by your’, interested in your’, invite you to’ and ‘welcome you to’ can attract the reader because the reader will feel included.
3. The organization of the invitation letter is well – organized. In the letter, it has told the reader why their university would like to invite him, then the university has stated the event and the title of the reader in their university if he accept to participate in the event.
Style
1. This letter has used the block format but the date should be justified to the left margin. The sender’s address is informal that it appears in the center of the letter. Moreover, it should be divided into more lines, it is relatively difficult to read the address because it is packed into two lines. Also the invitation letter should have a subject line that be put under
