The levels range from one to five where five is the highest and most advanced. As you move up the levels, the risk of physical injury increases because you are doing harder stunts and tumbling. Although cheerleading might seem simple, the athletes practice many days a week to keep all of their stunts in the air and land their tumbling perfectly. Competition season is from fall to spring, and during that time cheerleaders come from all over the country to meet for competitions. Cheerleaders work hard even when they feel like they are dying so that they can have that split-second on stage when the announcer calls their team as first place. It is an amazing feeling to walk out of the competition a winner, and that is what makes the work worth it.
