Chief Illiniwek was the official symbol of the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, associated with the University's intercollegiate athletic programs, from 1926 to February 21, 2007. Issues like all gender bathrooms, safety from sexual assault and the discrimination in the workplace needs more attention as these are not helping the university to become an inclusive campus. There is an awareness on all gender bathrooms, but these are not implemented at every place on campus making it hard for the LGBTQ community. The other most important issue is the security, the encounters of sexual assault makes the students fear than feeling inclusive. The lack of security or safety creates some emotional barriers making the divisions among the students. The difference in pay at work is not a problem in UIUC but in the nation and even in the world. Women are not equally paid like men for the same amount and skill of work. Even though university tries to prevent this with the regulation, this discrimination exists at
