Take Mr. Van Daan for example, he has been rude, mean and stubborn, pretty much the whole play. On page 96, shows just how selfish and rude he really was. Mr. Van Daan says” (to kraler) Just a little-discussion over the advisability of selling this coat. As I have often reminded Mrs. Van Daan, it’s very selfish of her to keep it when people outside are in such desperate need of clothing. (He gives the Coat to Miep.) So if you will please to sell it for us? It should fetch a good price.” He says that there are people out there freezing and in need of clothing. Trying to make it seem like he really cared. But he didn’t, just a few seconds before he was asking Miep to get him some more cigarettes, and that’s when she said that money was becoming a problem. But people have their good and bad days. There are two sides to every person, when there’s a bad side, there is a good, kind-hearted side.
