This case was reported and published for the purpose of instructing and training early education professionals to receive appropriate information in the area of inclusion with children.

Jack and Jill - and Sam Questions for discussion.
1.
At the end of the case, the atures describe, "Monica knew she had achieved her main goal." What was Monica's primary focus on working at Jack and Jill Child Care Center? What strategies do you use to achieve your goal?
Her main objective of Monica was to motivate and instruct the center staff to be able to include Sam, which was achieved using an action plan using monitoring of progress and through meetings and collaborative ideas and methods to plan an approach using a Portfolio with the collection of data with a benchmark for evaluation of the program to resolve the evaluation of the program.
2. Review the first telephone conversation Monica and Barbara Wheeler, the director of the day care. Finding at least four quotes from Monica amplify your overall approach to providing referral to day care ?. Monica on hearing the quotes began to develop an action plan including Smart Golas (Specific, Measurable, Realistic and relevant, Time-limited) and so began briefly with each selected appointment was intended to achieve its …show more content…
goal.
Barbara said in the first conversation her words were "All I can say is horrible" this was the first sentence that Monica listened to and realized that the staff were really frustrated. The second was during the time of the circle where Sam was impossible to be still and when they got him to sit down he shouted and upset the whole group. The third was when Sam went to the bathroom to get tantrums he did not want to go and after five minutes Sam wet his pants. And the last sentence was that the mother had never told them how bad Sam was and if things did not improve, they would exclude the child.
The method I used Monica was very useful to hear the frustrations and problems they had with Sam.
So Monica started to work using a check list which determined with the child's proximity area and the difficulties and concerns of the staff of the center regarding Sam, then started with the nursery professionals with an inclusion plan and sharing The responsibility with several of them and managed to obtain some effective characteristics of the teachers such as: Enthusiasm, sense of humor, consistency, flexibility, patience and the most important responsibility during their daily activities in order to achieve the inclusion of Sam in the Center. So having your first week with great progress in no time. She was fascinated with the work of the employees. These appointments were closely related so that Monica achieved her goal and that in no time would improve Sam's relationship in the activities in that way by reinforcing and emphasizing the great progress of the center with an
inclusion.
3. Mónica should have been more direct in your query? That is, should she have already offered some proposals to deal with Sam or provide written information for the staff to read?
I think she made a good suggestion when staffing for the inclusion of Sam because otherwise she would have done the staff would not realize the ability they had to find the solution and develop an action plan to solve Problems related to the inclusion of children with special needs in their program through the process of reforming the institution.
4. In general, what factors should be considered in determining whether a directive, period, or combined approach is used in the consultation? Program staff?
The most important factors are establishing a good relationship between the parents and the staff that collaborates in the institution. Within the program the factors to be considered are: Provide a report that shows the problems that occurred with the child during the day's activities. Sharing information about institutional issues and events. Teachers should provide balanced information and not just use "bad behavior" notes. These intervention strategies will help ensure better inclusion as established with the law of children receiving an IFSP or an IEP.
5. The staff did not want the mother to participate in the Sam meeting. Although Monica did not agree, in silence, I accepted her decision. Did she express her concerns to the staff and try to influence her attitude toward Sam's mother?
In my opinion I think she acted in a good way by showing her professional ethics, which first tried to make the staff more confident in achieving some change in Sam's behavior and thus to involve her mother in the way she was established in law, 142 and strengthened with IDEA 2004 to improve the child's learning so that she could be involved in the Epstein framework that establishes how parents can become involved in their child's education with which parents can. Act as parents by supporting their children in school, Establish communication with the institution, Volunteer in the program, Learning at home reinforcing learning, making decisions and Collaborating with the community.
6. What responsibility, if any, does Monica have to inform the mother and the plans that are made with Sam at the child care center, or results in the implementation of those plans.
Monica's first priority was to instruct staff to establish a more professional ethics establishment and then provide information to Sam's mother in accordance with the Code of Conduct and Ethics and implement the "due process" plan that gives the Right to call an Audition in which all documents can be reviewed. And start writing notes or sending emails to Sam's mom by providing information about what happened on the day with the child, sharing the child's active involvement, sharing concerns about the child's health, and providing a report on the child's progress. Child's communication record.
7. Thinking about your experiences, how can you identify with this situation from the point of view of child care staff? From the perspective of Barbara and Monica?
Barbara and Monica discussed and followed routine and the main characteristics were running records which included observation time from the beginning, dates observer name but can not include the child's name. Records of the days of work and routine. Time sampling Portfolio evaluation. These are important strategies to establish a plan and be aware of the application at the time of inclusion that the group will use to clarify some decisions and ideas developed.
conclusion
8. In your community, what resources are available to help regular child care staff? Does it focus on the inclusion of children with special needs? What additional resources are needed for successful outcomes?
The importance of the community is very important that there are resources for children with special needs and that they take full advantage of the opportunities that exist in different community centers and that parents obtain the necessary help for their children. Another important point is that ECE professionals attend appropriate training on how to develop inclusion for special children.
In this report if the desired goal was achieved and Sam was successfully included in the program after a long process of evaluations of the professionals. One option is to attend training to be able to know your rights to the laws that protect the needs of Special children such as IDEA and knowing how to implement an IFSP for children of 0.
