As a child, I always felt sick inside and so ugly on the outside whenever my oldest sister’s Wendy friends came over to our house. I was always the topic of conversation or the joke for the day. Instead of having fun like the other kids, I would sit in my room until her company left. I believed that if they did not see me they could not talk about me. Sometimes, I felt like God brought me into this world just so people would have someone to hate.…

The surgeries were done to make it easier to do simple tasks, such as picking things up. This is an obstacle that I have to live with. An obstacle is something that gets in your way, making it harder to complete a task. The easiest thing to do when an obstacle gets in your way is to stop trying and find the easiest way out of the situation. This is something you must not do, because when an obstacle gets in your way, it’s important to never give up, see it from all angles, and adapt to the situation.…

Karl Kraus once said, “Jealousy is a dogs bark, which attracts thieves.” In this quote Karl is trying to express that jealousy is a trap. Once you become jealous, it attracts all kinds of bad events or actions. Jealousy can push people to do things, which they would normally never do. The young boys in the books A Separate Peace, by John Knowles, Waiting For the Rain, by Shelia Gordon, and Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, become very fond of the “attacks” of jealousy. In these books jealousy is a key factor in what defines the relationships, and how they are destroyed.…

The time I moved was the time experienced being vulnerable. An introduction into an unfamiliar culture can come as a shock to many, but I found many positive opportunities present themselves with a clean. As the outsider trying to fit into a tight-knit class of students, the need to present myself time and time again was frustrating. It seemed as if I was a door-to-door salesman trying to push a product to the people. I spent days trying to sell what I offered to each new person I encountered, wondering if I had created a lasting impression. The people that had known me the longest hadn't known me longer than a week. I as if nobody understood me yet. I then realized that I was looking at my vulnerability all wrong.…
