2. Why do you want to attend Job Corps as opposed to a more traditional educational path?
I decided to choose the Job Corps path to help me in obtaining my G.E.D or high school diploma. Also, I feel that choosing this path I can get a trade that will help me with having a productive future. I have done some research on job Corps and I feel as though this is a better path for me than trying to obtain an education on my own. I have never been out on my own and this will help me to see life. It will also help me too grow up and make the necessary changes that I need to raise a productive son. …show more content…
3.
What trade do you want to take while enrolled in the job Corps program and why?
I would like to take up a trade in Health Occupations while enrolled in Job Corps. While being enrolled in this program I would like to take up Medical Assistant. Growing up in a small town I always knew I wanted to do something in the HealthCare field. Doing something that is meaningful and helping someone else to get better. But I also knew that I didn’t want to be in the hands on part of it.
4. How do you see yourself in 15 years and what goals do you plan to
achieve?
In 15 years I see myself being a very productive and successful person. The reason I say this is that Jobs Corps is giving me the stepping stone that I need to start to achieve my goals. My first goal in life is to become a great parent to my son. My second goal is to become a medical assistant. By getting my education shows him no matter the obstacle you still can achieve greatness.
5. How can the job Corps assist you in accomplishing your goals?
I think that Job Corps can help me in reaching my goals in many ways. First it will provide me with stable living arrangements, where I can focus and get my education. It also will provide a place where my son can be with me and not having to worry about his safety. It also will place me in new surroundings where there aren’t many distractions everyone here will be focusing in on the same goals. And it also allows me with enough time to reach my goals in getting my G.E.D and obtaining my certification in Medical Assistant.
6. What is the worst experience you’ve had, and what did you learn from it to make you a better person.
The worst experience for me was being put out the house at the age of 17 with an infant son. It taught me that you can’t always depend on family. You have to learn to make away for yourself. It hurt me not having the knowledge or education I needed to get a job or even supplying my son with his needs. And what made me a better person, knowing that I have the strength to accomplish all of the goals that I set out for and that I know I’m a good person.
