John Bellion Research Paper
Jon Bellion’s first studio album The Human Condition earned the number five spot next to other famous artists Drake, Nick Jonas, the cast of Hamilton and Beyonce on The Billboard 200 during its first week out. He is currently inhabiting this massive fame scoring two sold out national tours yet this 26-year-old singer/songwriter still lives at home with his parents, playing basketball with his friends in Long Island, New York. Basically, being human. Jon Bellion is an American singer, rapper, songwriter and record producer born and raised in Lake Grove, New York, on December 26, 1990.
Early in his career, Jon released his first three albums: Scattered Thoughts, The Separation, and Translation Through Speakers out for free. In doing so, he brought upon himself a huge amount of risk because the capital could have potentially shelved him. With his devoted army of fans, they prevented this and he was able to build up the charts and stand at this height today.

Music has ways to “overpower the mind” and through his music, he hopes to touch the minds of youths and alter their perspectives on being human. Social media is a robot that sucks the life out of our generation’s brains. “We live in an age where everything is staged. All we do is fake our feelings.” And Jon heavily portrays this notion in his music. Social media s a whole other world where we live in and still, it is so fake. Music nowadays are empty, shallow beats that weighs no culture. Jon’s music is of substance. He crafts lyrics and beats that talks about pride and disturbing issues, such as the horrors of society and social media that nobody really wants to talk about. Nevertheless, he encourages youths to “not live in social media” and “to concentrate in real life with your loved ones” because “at the end of the day your number of likes and follower count doesn’t matter” as much as your wasting time with your
