“…since the body of the 6-year-old child-pageant contestant was found in the basement of her parents' sprawling Boulder, Colo., home, there have been no arrests.” ("The Death of a Little Girl; Who Killed JonBenet Ramsey Is Just One Mystery in the Colorado Murder That Has Captivated--and Repulsed--a Nation. Why Aren't the Parents Talking? Why a Three-page Ransom Note? Are Police Mishandling the Investigation? Nothing in This Case Has Been Routine.: Home Edition). Many people have accused the family of the death of Jonbenet because the authorities have no evidence of anyone else in the house. Most people have said that the murder was an accident by either Patsy, her mother, Burke, her brother, or her father, John Ramsey. These people believe that the family decided to hide the death from police to protect their family after a terrible accident out of anger. Some think the death was caused by a Santa that they visited the day of Christmas, because the Santa they visited in their mall the day before also had a daughter that died the day after Christmas, was this a coincidence or an attempted murder? Many also believe it was caused by a random person who wanted to hurt the Ramsey family. “ To the police-and to much of the public, the girl's parents, John and Patsy Ramsey, are the key suspects, but the Ramsey’s steadfastly maintain their innocence.”
