Julius Caesar Was Just A Dictator
My Fellow Romans, I come to tell you today that all Julius Caesar was just a Dictator who ruined Rome. If you didn’t know he joined forces with Cleopatra and defeated the republican forces. When he got back from defeating the republicans he told all of Rome he wanted to be “Dictator for Life”. What would you think if Donald Trump says he wants to be a dictator for life instead of a president? You probably wouldn’t like that. Having someone telling you to do something all the time like you are his peasant. I heard from a source that Julius also assumed he had the powers of a dictator when he got back and reformed a lot of laws. Like he reformed a law that he had more power than any Roman leader. If you are the Vice President and the President

The Roman government was in ruin when Julius Caesar came to power in 49 BC. Rome was too large to control itself, and the only seat with effective power was the dictator. Caesar was the first emperor of Rome, and the Senate hated that he called himself king. The members of senate deemed him a tyrant, as seen in Plutarch: “Therefore the plots which had previously been formed separately, often by groups of two or three, were united in a general conspiracy, since even the populace no longer were pleased with present conditions, but both secretly and openly rebelled at his tyranny and cried out for defenders of their liberty.” (Plutarch LXXX) The Senate also wanted Caesar out of power because each of them wanted to become the dictator themselves, which would have resulted in further conflict and a bloodier war than the final Roman war.…

In Julius Caesar the rulers break and bend the rules one after another. I don't think the rulers should be able to break there rules and then tell us not to even if it was for the good of the country. “As a rule, men worry more about what they can't see than about what they can” (Caesar). This quote really gets to the reader because all of the other rulers assumed that Julius Caesar was going to change their country into something that wasn’t good for the people. They were so worries about how they thought he was going to ruin their government that they didn’t look at the positive sides to Julius being a ruler. We have been learning about Julius Caesar in class for weeks and by the time you get done reading this essay you might agree with me. After you get done reading this you will gain more knowledge about giving one man so much power for one country can cause so much trouble. Julius Caesar and Brutus did not agree on the future government of Rome so Brutus ultimately killed Caesar. I disagree, Julius Caesar was a powerful man that was seen as a threat, brutus didn’t agree with having Rome as a dictatorship, and in result Brutus kills Caesar in fear of Rome falling apart and only to become a…

Every text is constructed for a purpose; the composer is trying to convey and embed their agenda into the reader by persuading them to accept their perspective on key events, personalities and/or situations. Through the manipulation of various textual forms, structures and language composers persuade their audience to adopt their perspective. Composers often decide to present conflicting perspectives to truly engage their audience. By demonstrating the concept of conflicting perspectives the composer is able to glorify their perspective in contrast to another to enforce their agenda, they position the audience through language to side with them. The tight narrative “Julius Caesar” by William Shakespeare’s utilises the final days of Caesar’s…

A dictionary definition of a leader is a guiding hand in a movement or group. My definition of a leader is someone who stands out amongst the rest and steps up to the task and helps the “followers” advance and strive to become a leader as well. The only way a leader can be effective is by leading by example. A prime example of this is Malala Yousafzai. She was shot in the face for trying to go to school. If she hadn’t gone to school she wouldn’t have been shot, but she also wouldn’t have a Nobel Peace prize. She is now using her story to speak for access to education for everyone. A leader is someone who leads by example and uses their skills to help others succeed.…

The citizens’ power to elect representatives for the Senate, originated during these leaders’ reigns. A strong President, much like a Greek king or Roman Caesar, must provide the stability and leadership required during times of crisis. While Alexander espoused democracy for the people he conquered, Julius infused western civilization into the territories he acquired. Thus combined, they provided a new form of supremacy to the people that served as a basis for many leaders. In this case, the more powerful and effective leadership is portrayed by Julius Caesar not only because of his redesign of politics, but also his advances in military and cultural achievements.…

The city of Rome had functioned as a republic for centuries, being ruled by a Senate. The reign of Julius Caesar throughout the first century was filled with rioting, conquests, and instability. In 44 BCE, he was named dictator of Rome, a title that made others jealous, fear that Caesar was becoming too powerful, and think that the rights of the Senate would soon diminish. It was because of this, that a group of Roman senators led by Brutus and Cassius assassinated Caesar by stabbing him. However, all was not restored as they had hoped and a rival between Julius Caesar’s nephew Octavian (who was his heir) and his trusted friend Marc Antony broke out as they engaged in a power struggle. Their conflict would last for years until Octavian finally…
