A third assessment offered is the quantitative top down constructed The Jung Typology Test that is used for prediction. Individual obtain their four letter type formula according to Carl Jung’s and Briggs-Myers’ typology approach to personality. It is a shorter version of the MBTI, providing the same information on the 16PF on a much smaller scale. The JTT has a closed end question format that forces participants to choose their answer on a Likert-scale. There is a reduction in error because there is no proctor present and the instructions are easy to read.…
According to Stenudd (N.D), Carl Jung’s theory on archetype referred to fictional type-roles like the hero. However, archetypes were also keys that symbolize human’s personality and values. Furthermore, some archetypes could be seen as mixes of other archetypes. Followed by the explanation of Golden (n.d), Jung defined 12 primary types that shown the personality of the character, motivation, and set of values. The Jungian theory suggested the primary archetypes of Self: self, ego, shadow, persona, anima/animus. This theory was applied in analyzing the complex characters in the film (Gunston 2004).…

We all play various different roles throughout our journeys through life. Star Wars was written and produced by George Lucas. His original story was based on the writing of Joseph Campell who was a scholar of myths and legends. George Lucas also based his ideas off of Jung’s Archetype Theory. This theory is that our personalities fit into one of many different types, each based on a collective unconscious. His story follows a classic heroic arc. Star Wars was the first serious science fiction film created and also one six Oscars. A failure to understand one’s temperament could result in being employed in a job that is not seen as satisfying or generally a miscommunication with employees and employers. According to Jung Typology Test’s result, ENTP is my personality type. The accuracy of personality tests are doubtful for me. They seem to me like the given descriptions by horoscopes, any one gets this result would probably think it was he or she, especially since it is mostly praising. So that, I looked at the weakness to figure out whether ENTP describes me exactly or not.…
For the purpose of this essay I will attempt to show an understanding of Carl Jung’s theory of personality types, evaluate his theory and show how the theory might help a therapist to determine therapeutic goals.…
In order to better understand myself and others, I turned to the reliable, comprehensive Jung typology test. Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter, Isabel Briggs Myers, compiled this personality test based on the work of famous early twentieth century psychologist Carl Jung. The test determines one's personality type based on four parameters – an introverted/extroverted…
Being more concerned about understanding the unconscious than the development of personality, Carl Jung divided life into four basic stages: childhood, youth and young adulthood, middle age, and old age (Sharf 2008, p.94). Although Jung studied all of the stages thoroughly, his most interest was in that of the middle age stage (p. 94). Jung believed that the Archetypes were the inherited predisposition for certain thoughts and ideas (p. 88).…
Among Freud, Jung, and Adler, Freud is indisputably the most towering monolith. It was Freud's pioneering use of the term "the I" "das Ich" in his native German, which was then translated into the Latin "ego" that brought "ego" into common parlance and popular interest to the process of self-consciousness. Adler's school of psychology, which he called "Individual Psychology," was based on the idea of the indivisibility of the personality. His most significant divergence from Freud's premises was his belief that it was crucial to view the human being as a whole not as a conglomeration of mechanisms, drives or dynamic parts. And in contrast to most psychological thinking of the time, Adler believed that, fundamentally, human beings are self-determined.…
In Jung’s theory of personality, thought forms common to all human beings, stored in the collective unconscious is called, archetypes.…
The type of personalities of every individual is very important. While doing an evaluation of myself using Jung Typology Test, I discovered that I was an ENFJ individual. My primary objective is identity seeking. My life consists of being a teacher or a giver. An ENFJ is an extraverted, iNtuitive, feeling, and judging person. “Each of the ENFJ’s preferences compound to make them a natural convincer. Their energy comes from the outwardly directed, socially oriented, gregarious external world (Extraversion). They prefer to perceive the world as having endless possibilities and meanings (iNtuition), which they use to make subjective, interpersonally based decisions (Feelings). They prefer to live their daily lives in a structured, scheduled, and orderly fashion (Judging), (Kroeger, Thuesen, & Rutledge, pg. 386).” This means that I have extraverted feelings with introverted intuitions. I am a people- focused individual. However, I am considered a smooth talker and very persuading. It is said that ENFJ’s are natural sales people. I found it funny that this statement is true. I am an insurance agent with Allstate. My everyday life…
The archetypes that I see emerging more strongly in me is the seeker. The seeker is one archetype I would invest more of my life into. I want to seek for a better future and explore the world. As a curious person, I don't think I would've survive any longer in the suburbs. "Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced…
Carl Jung, most famously known for his work in describing archetypes, synchronicity, and the collective unconscious has shown me a new way to look at life. Archetypes reveal to humans that we are not just linked through how we look or what functions we have such as arms, hearts or breathing. Some classic archetypes in my life were such as my father was a tyrant of a man who would control everything my family did because when my family lived with him, he did not let my mom have any money to do anything or to go anywhere unless it were to go buy groceries. My father even controlled use when he and my mother were separated by making us see him on weekends when me and my sister were young. Seeing him made my mom extremely upset and he was a very abusive man overall.…
There are many different types of archetypes, but I am solely going to focus on one, mine. I am of the innocent archetype and I believe it is a very important part to who I am. The traits of an innocent archetype are blissful yet dark if you see it through my eyes. There's fear of abandonment, desire to be loved, and the ability to control emotion when you need to. This has led me into a life that I am living now.…
