Katy Perry Firework Essay

I selected the song Firework by Katy Perry because it is a very catchy song and it has a good meaning behind the song. I’m a firm believer in showing who you truly are and not hiding your true self so you “fit in” if you think fit in by acting different are you really fitting in at all. Be your true self and find an actual friend group where you can be who you truly are. The song says “show them what you’re worth” and “Let you’re colors burst.” What Katy Perry is saying with those lyrics is that you need to be true self and not to pretend to be someone you’re not to just impress someone. In today’s society people are worried what people think of them constantly and Katy Perry is really fighting back against that and then music video it shows if you start acting like your true self more than likely people are going to enjoy seeing who you really are. I like the song even more after this essay assignment because is Katy Perry trying to make an impact about this song and change people for the better. She is trying to encourage people to be real and “let their colors burst” in our society today you don’t see a lot of artists trying to make a good impact in their songs so it’s very nice to see Katy Perry to switch it up and have the song actually mean something good. Most song today just talk about having sex doing drugs and drinking. Which Firework is actually a great example for kids to listen and can change and show their true self and it would benefit them and make a great impact on their life. So all because of those reasons is why I chose this song because at the end of the day why not act like your true
