Katy Perry Song Firework This is a very different and I find it to be a little challenging assignment. For this assignment we were supposed to choose a song that is influential to us and write about the song. So, I decided to pick the song Firework by Katy Perry from the album teenage dream. This is easily one of my top ten songs of all time because this song tells you that you don't have to be afraid of who you are and who always have to show our true colors to the world. The song was released on October 28, 2010. It was on the number one spot for almost three weeks on billboard hot one hundred. Katy Perry wrote this song because she wanted to give voice to any people who were going through hard times in their lives and also to the kids who were bullied and help them discover their inner beauty and step up to the people who bullied them. I didn't know anything about the song until the video came out and it started to play on the radios. I first listened to it when I was in my car driving home from work. At first I didn't think it was that good but when I saw the music video then I realized what the significance and the importance of the song. I decided to write about this song because once I understood about what the song means and about what motivated the author to write this song, it took me back to my high school days and I could remember those memories like they happened yesterday. I choose to write about this song because it reminds me of the time when I was in seventh grade and bullied for the first time in my life. I was new to this country and I didn't know my way around and what to expect from the people as well. I was a bit nerdy too so the "cool" kids always picked on me. It was not like physical bullying but it was like mental torture and scaring me to get what they want. They would copy my homework and take my notes and always cheat of me in test and quizzes.
