Kids Will Be Kids Essay

“Kids will be kids,” they said, but they stop believing that statement when a youngster commits heinous actions. I strongly agree with not sentencing juveniles or charging them as adults, they do not have the capacity of reasoning their actions. A brain is not at its full development at a young age. As for an adult, their brain has been through more development and should be mature and conscious of what is that they are doing. We are not considered legal yet until we turn 18; and it is for the same reason, because they expect us to be more mature of our actions. We know more, we know better, we are conscious of what will go on and if it is the right thing to do. It is not right either for these younger kids to do these dreadful crimes and I do believe they should be penalized for what they have done, but never be trialed as an adult or even be sentenced to prison. “These children were told that they could never change and that no one cared what became of them. She states that the prison has previously recognized that youngsters should not be doomed to die in a prison, especially if they have not been given the opportunity to gain their release based on good actions, maturity and rehabilitation. I agree with what she has to say about this, I think the court is actually considering a good outcome for the prisoned juveniles, they should not be life sentenced at such young age, especially since they are still young, they have a lot to live and go through as grown adults.
