“The Problem with gender is that it prescribes how we should be, rather than recognizing how we are” the average full time weekly wage for a woman is 18.2% less than a man's. Woman and Men have always been seen as unequal for many years.In both jobs and everyday life men and women are set apart by standards kept for many centuries. Both Genders should be treated equal because you should be defined by what you do, not your parts.
On January 28th the grammys had their 60th showing of the award show and this year came with a lot of controversy over one specific subject, Gender Bias. Her boss brought her in and asked if she understood the statistics between a woman's competence and likeability in the workplace. He basically explained to her that in order to be liked in the workplace she needed to be less competent than the other male workers. Her boss told her to work on her likeability rather than her fellow coworkers to change their attitudes. I thought it was unfair that she was treated that way because she worked hard to get where she currently is at in the workplace. She obviously was there to do her job and succeed not to be liked by other coworkers. 83% of women are discriminated in the workplace. Women are more than just people who take care of kids and stay at home and cook and clean. Women are leaders and business ceos, they can succeed just as well as as other people. Women are strong and independent, they are strong and hard hearted. Mothers spend twice as many hours each week looking after children compared to fathers. People need to understand that we are equal and we should not be defined by our parts. We should be united and together not separated by little things like our gender. Our parts do not define who we are, how we act and what we do make the difference. The world is one, its about time we started acting as one and not different. I think the world would be a better place if acted as one, because being as one means more love. The world needs a little bit more love to make things
