Based on a survey called “Assessing Your Learning Style,” I am more of a visual learner than an auditory learner (Kolb, 1984). I agree with these results after taking this survey. “Sometimes you may find yourself tuned out staring out the window maybe when you were really trying to pay attention to something” (Kolb, 1984). I can definitely relate to this statement. I tend to sometimes look around me whenever I should be paying attention to someone speaking. It is mostly because I am either thinking about something else or I am uninterested about the topic. I took a self-test to determine if I am a procrastinator or not. This self-test was called “Are You a Procrastinator” (“Are you a Procrastinator?,” n.d.). Before I completed the self-test, I already knew what my results would be. My score was 53, which means that I am not a systematic procrastinator (“Are you a Procrastinator?,” n.d.). I am the type of person who will start on an assignment as soon as it has been assigned to me. Even if I don’t finish the entire assignment all at once, I will start some parts of it on a daily basis. In life, many things come up out of nowhere. It is best

According to VARK (Fleming, 2001-2011), visual learners prefer pictures; they tend to look for the whole picture instead of breaking it down, and analyzing each portion. They will remember pictures or diagrams on study pages. Aural learners prefer to hear things; they will re-listen to taped lectures, and should attend discussions. Their class notes might be poor because they tend to listens instead of take notes, but they will recall stories or examples from the lectures. Read/write learners like words or lists; they take a lot of notes, and re-read them over and over. They use dictionaries,…

A learning style is the way in which a person processes new information. In the learning system there are three main types of learning which are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. People may learn best by being taught with the three learning methods, but others may not. Visual learners are people who learn by seeing. These people learn more where there are images, graphs, diagrams, and colors involved. Visual learners are learners that first have to see what they are expected to know. Auditory learners learn best by hearing. Lastly, there is the kinesthetic learners, also known as tactile learners, those learners learn best by the physical activity. A learning style simply means how one learns and remembers information. Visual, auditory, or kinesthetic are the different learning styles. Learning styles can greatly go with personality, for instance a visual learner is usually neat and organized, while a kinesthetic learner is not so organized and impulsive. The visual learner thinks with pictures, likes to write things down, and can usually retain information easily. The auditory learner listens to information best and can usually verbalize and tell stories. Finally, the kinesthetic learner is a hands-on learner, likes to move around, and usually does not like to read directions. A teacher needs to recognize what type of learner each student is to understand how the student processes…

In a recent study, I was able to determine which learning style category I fell into. Three learning style categories were discussed. Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic Learning Styles were presented. The first part of the assessment was to go through three different lists consisting of different habits often associated with learning and studying. I was to read through each list and check off all that applied to my personal study and learning habits. When I was done, I found that I am dominantly a Visual Learner. Some of the characteristics I possess in relation to being a Visual learner are 1) I often ask for instructions to be repeated 2) I like to use maps or note cards when I review my notes 3) The best way for me to remember something is to picture it in my head. These are some…

One of the most important learning styles that aides my learning process is the visual learning style. Saying that, this learning style allows me to understand and multi task two things at the same time to solve a challenging problem.
