As people gracefully age, our bodies gets weaker. This was the case for my grandmother, at the age of 62. It was not until a month ago when she paid a visit to doctor office due to chronic knee pain. After the doctor inspected her knee, he later found out that the pain was caused by no cartilage in her knees. The only option my grandmother had, was knee replacement surgery, in other words knee reconstruction.

The physical therapist work consists mainly of her lower body. By having her partake in several exercises, this would help strengthen her newly reconstruction knees. The physical therapist comes out to the house three time a week for the first two weeks, then two times a week for four weeks. My grandmother is also given some homework to do when the physical therapist is not around. The homework that she has to do consist of several pages of figures doing the motions she would have to practice to build the strength back up in her knees. After the physical therapist pays a visit, an occupational therapist is the next in line to stop by her
