Kodadiak Island Persuasive Speech
Kodiak is one of seven communities on the main Island of Kodiak Island, Alaska. All commercial transportation between the entire island goes through either ferryboat or airline. The main thing that people do there is go fishing whenever they can, and wherever they can. The town of Kodiak has everything a town needs, the only thing that it lacks is a fast food place, but people don't need it because it's not healthy. They get about 70 inches of snowfall every year on Kodiak Island. Every year they hold the Kodiak Crab Fest that everybody near and far gathers to. Kodiak Island in Alaska is a good place to live because of the people there, the animals in nature, and the places in nature. First I am going to tell you about the people we met along our life adventure there. The people that you met there are amazing in every which kind of way. The many people that we met there were very friendly, welcoming, and …show more content…
The bears that live there are called Kodiak Grizzly Bears and smell like wet dog and rotten fish. There are many bears that live there and are seen everywhere, everyday at anytime. The bears ranged from 400 to 1400 pounds and were not friendly and would eat your livestock. Everybody that lives there fishes whenever they can no matter what the weather was like. There are many types of fish that are caught there but our favorites were always halibut and king salmon. We used to go long lining all the time on the weekends for fish with several of our close friends, and one time in one of our long lines we had caught a baby shark. The Bald Eagles live there and go wherever they want and are very protected by the city. If you were walking your dog they might try and come down and pick it up to eat it, if they were hungry enough. The bald eagles were everybody's favorite and they had pictures of them everywhere you went. The animals that live there are made to live there and everyone loves

What is the worst thing that a force can do before going into battle? The worst thing that a force cannot do is have improper planning. In the article Anaconda- A Flawed Joint Planning there was some key steps that were missed in the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP). In the beginning, Game management in Alaska was almost non-existent. It started in 1949 just as a fishery service put into place by the Territorial Legislator. The idea of the this wasn’t to control all the fish, but to influence the federal government 's way of looking at fish management in Alaska. It wasn’t until 1957 when the Alaska Fishery Service was changed to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.…

Lately there have been a lot of break-ins and armed robberies in Jimboomba by ‘teenagers’. They’ve been demanding money from store clerks, some with knifes, baseball bats, and anything in between. To be honest I do not find the joy in doing such a thing, I believe that if you work hard enough to earn a living you will feel as if you have done well in this life and honestly I wouldn’t feel good knowing I have someone else’s hard earned money all to myself. I know that some of the crimes committed aren’t so bad, but the teens should be punished to learn from their mistakes, I believe that by doing so it will cause the community to feel safer and engage the government to make Jimboomba a better place to live.…

Hey Xoe, please talk to your following about Standing Rock. More people need to know about what’s happening, because it’s horrible. It seems as though our native people are losing once again. Police are tormenting them on their land. I’m not sure if you know about what is happening, but I feel like it’s important to know, or to educate as many people as possible on the subject. A short summary of this situation would be that there is a an oil pipeline being put through the Standing Rock reservation in North and South Dakota. If you didn’t know oil pipelines have high rates of leaking which would cause the Native Americans living there not be able to use the natural water sources such a lake and rivers. The pipes also will most likely exploded,…

The Eagle represents Signal Hill and means so much to our school community. We would like to replace the old carved wood Eagle that is displayed in the front of our school, which is rotting, with a new one. It would be presented as a gift to the Signal Hill Elementary School on behalf of the 2016 Signal Hill Graduating Class. The occasional land mammal was hunted as well. The western region of Alaska is home to caribou, brown bears, deer, moose, and more.…

I disagree with California Ban on the word ‘Redskins.” I disagree because Native Americans are the only one making it a bad name. No one else is using Redskins in a bad way or even thinks of it in a bad way. All reskins means is that someone skin has a red tint. It’s names of many schools and some famous sports teams and they shouldn’t have to change their name because Native Americans think of it in a bad way. Everyone who has had to change their name because of California ban should get to change it back. Schools and sorts teams now have to change their mascot, their name and if it’s a school they might even have to change their company. I disagree with California’s ban and I’m sticking with that.…

The Crucible is a good portrayal of the events that happened. The vulgar acts of the townspeople to these ladies is profusely obscene. This would not happen today, people may get immensely worked up over things but they would never kill people like that. In today's society we still have radicals, but law enforcement would never let this happen. The peril of what happened back then is an abomination; it is a blemish on our country.…
