There are many food products that are inherently kosher. Many of the producers of these food items do not realize they could benefit immensely from getting these products certified kosher by a kosher agency and then marketing these items to an explicitly kosher market.

If you are marketing a non-kosher food item but want to break into the kosher food market you may want to consider a recipe change. You will be surprised how easy it is for many foods to become kosher with just a few minor recipe adjustments. Also remember to get the item Kosher certified.

An ingredient that holds many foods back from being kosher is pig fat. Most foods however can have pig fat substituted for animal fat with no real change to the taste or cost of producing the food. Even if the food does become slightly more expensive you open up a whole new market by making it

If your food is processed with shellfish or other non-kosher items it will render your food non-kosher. If you can find a place to process your food that does not deal in shell fish you will be able to sell it on the kosher market.

If your food blends dairy and meat you have many alternatives by way of meat substitutes or milk free dairy. You will be surprised as to how authentic these substitutions taste. They can also help to make food healthier and more environmentally conscious. It is a win-win situation, kosher food that is healthier, better for the environment, and more marketable.

If you are thinking of changing your food to make it kosher I suggest studying the kosher definition and seeing if the kosher market is right for you. I you choose to go kosher there are a number of agencies that will help you navigate the different rules, regulatory boards, and law of kosher food production. There is a lot of money to be made in the Kosher food world, all you need is the right kosher food product to do it
