Servent MARRY
(offstage) Hey,! Are you awake?

JULIET
Who is calling my name? Is it Marry marry? Why is she coming here at this time?

LADY CAPULET and the marry enters.

Servent MARRY
What’s going on, Juliet?

JULIET
I am not well

LADY CAPULET
Will you cry about your cousin being dead forever? He is gone. Are you trying to wash him out of his grave with your tears? You can't bring him back to life. So stop crying. A little bit of grief shows a lot of love. But too much grief makes you look stupid!

JULIET
Let me cry, I've had such a loss.
MARRY
The man you weep for will feel nothing, so why should you?

JULIET
I can’t help but cry for him forever. He meant everything

Romeo has been banished. And i am pretty sure that he will never come back to take you, with him. If he does come back, he’ll have to sneak back. Then, since things are the way they are, I think the best thing to do is to marry Paris. Oh, he’s a lovely gentleman! Romeo is nothing compared to him. I think you will be happy to be married to a man like him. Even if it’s not good, your first marriage is over. Or if Romeo is as good as Paris, Romeo doesn’t live here, so you don’t get to meet him.

JULIET
Are you speaking from your heart?

MARRY
I speak from my heart and my soul too. If not, curse them both.

JULIET
Amen!

MARRY
What?

JULIET
Well, you have given me great advice. Go inside and tell my mom that I’m going. I made her angry, so I am going to Friar Lawrence’s cell to confess and be forgiven.

MARRY
Alright, I will. This is a good idea.

Exit Nanny

JULIET
That stupid lady! So old. She wants me to break my vows or for her to say bad things about Romeo after she said so many good things about him. I will not take her advice. From now on, I won’t tell her how I am feeling or what i am doing. I’m going to Friar Laurence to see if he has a good solution. If nothing works at least I have the power to remove me from my problems and take my life.

The Nurse wants Juliet to be happy, she says so at the end of Juliet’s first scene. She ensures that Romeo and Juliet get married, and tries to ensure Juliet is happy with the “wanton blood up in [her] cheeks” (II.v.71) all the time. She weeps with Juliet at the recent news of Romeo’s banishment and leaves to find Romeo “To comfort [Juliet]” (III.ii.139) even if Juliet’s comfort is temporary. In Act III Scene v, the Nurse jumps into Capulet’s ranting to try to calm him down so Juliet doesn’t have to be verbally assaulted any longer. After Capulet and Lady Capulet leave, Nurse gives Juliet some advice to follow her parent’s orders because she will never see Romeo again. She wants Juliet to move on because she thinks that a new love will make her happy. This line is to the detriment of their relationship, but she made this decision thinking of Juliet’s depressed pining for Romeo, causing her to cry for hours. Unlike the Nurse, Lady Capulet has a blasé outlook towards her daughter’s feelings. She asks Juliet’s opinion on marriage and then tells her to consider Paris. Juliet must respond to her mother’s orders so she says “I’ll look to like, if looking liking move;/But no more deep will I endart mine eye/ Than your consent gives strength to make it fly” (I.iii.98-100) to mask her feelings while appeasing Lady Capulet. Juliet says “He shall not make me a happy and joyful bride.” (III.v.118) and her mother seems to fixate on this line because she confesses that “I will not marry yet; and, when I do, I swear, /It shall be Romeo” (III.v.122-3), and Lady Capulet has no reaction whatsoever. After Capulet enters and Lady Capulet tells him Juliet’s decision, Juliet interrupts, covertly she telling her mother that she loves Romeo. Capulet flies into a rage unseen in his character before this and Lady Capulet asks Juliet if she’s crazy for her cryptic messages in front of her father nonetheless, not once thinking that her daughter…

Romeo is sixteen years old and closer to Juliet’s age. Unlike Paris, Romeo is immature, does not have a job, is not established, and the son of Lord Capulet’s sworn enemy. The one thing that sets Romeo apart from Paris, however, is that Romeo and Juliet share true love. Just one of Romeo’s many declarations of his love for Juliet was after the Capulet’s party at Juliet’s balcony. “By love, that first did prompt me to inquire. He lent me counsel and I lent him eyes. I am no pilot. Yet, wert thou as far As that vast shore washed with the farthest sea, I would adventure for such merchandise.” (Act 2 Sc.2 Lines 85-89). Romeo says how even though he is not a sailor, he would risk everything to be with Juliet if she was across the farthest sea. This quote proves how Romeo loves Juliet endlessly. Differing from Paris, Romeo is emotionally instable and jumps from woman to woman, he is indecisive, adolescent, daring and impetuous, passionate, and treats Juliet as an equal, and Romeo has true feelings of love for Juliet. Romeo is considered the best choice for Juliet because he really loves Juliet. He is so romantic and passionate, and when Romeo and Juliet are together, it is obvious that they enjoy each other’s presence. Juliet is the happiest with Romeo, but because Paris is in the picture, Juliet is stuck between her head and…

Oh, I am so embarrassed. Earlier this night my one true love, Romeo, heard me confessing my love for him. I was asking myself why he had to have the name Montague and requested he change his name for me and forget about his father’s wishes. I never noticed how ridiculous this terrible feud is before! It makes no sense; Two intelligent families that cannot seem to solve a feud and no one even remembers what started the whole thing. Anyways, I truly feared for Romeo when he was up with me on my balcony, but I did not want him to leave! My dear relatives would murder him if they found out he was with me! Oh Romeo, why must you be a Montague? I was so frightened that he would think I was too effortless and he wanted me to play hard to get but…

Romeo”? ( Act-2 Scene-5 lines 38-39). When the nurse said this to Juliet she should've known that she should've never married him. The nurse says “ Faith, here it is. Romeo is banished; and all the world to nothing that he dares ne’er come back to challenge you; or if he do, it needs must be by stealth. Then, since the case so stands as now it doth, I think it's best you married with the county. O, he's a lovely gentleman!” (Act-3 Scene-5 lines 213-217). She is pretty much saying that her best bet is just to marry Paris and forget about Romeo but she can't. After that she gets an argument with Friar and she says “O, bid me leap, rather than marry Paris, from off the battlements of any tower”. (Act-4 Scene-1 lines 77-78). Juliet is saying that she'd rather jump off a tower than marry Paris. Which she should just realize that Romeo is gone and she should just marry…
