Larger schools can offer a very wide range of opportunities to their students. A high school in Illinois has "an enrollment of 3,1oo students and a budget of $67 million", allowing students to explore their intrest freely (Myers 1). Smaller schools don’t have as much funding which means they can only really afford the core classes. I have went to both a large and a small school and I can honestly say that the larger school offered so much more than the small school from
extra curricular activities to advanced placement. Also, large schools have a more diverse population than smaller schools.
Larger schools around the U.S have quite a lot of diversity within their population. Diversity, meaning not restricted to one race being the majority. Attending a diverse school is extremely good because students who go to a school with different racial and ethnic groups tend to have a higher comfort with people in the future (Gordon 2). Students who attend schools with many different types of people learn to interact with them more freely than students from a smaller school who does not have much diversity. This will be helpful with "future personal and business relationships" (Gordon 2). Having a better understanding of different groups of people will help your children greatly in the future. A more diverse schools important to learn how to work and socialize with different groups of people.
From better opportunities, population or a more diverse, larger schools have many reasons why they are more effective than smaller schools. If picking a school, pick the larger one to have a better education opportunities and a better learning experience.
