Lava Beds National Monument
Dear Principal,

I really would like to visit Lava Beds National monument located in northeastern California. It holds many new learning experiences, many new sights to see, and possibly might change their career. A surreal landscape sculpted by molten earth, Lava Beds National Monument contains volcanic tablelands punctuated by cinder cones and spatter cones, plus more than 700 caves. These strange features were formed when the outer edges of flowing lava began to cool, forming tubes. When molten lava stopped flowing, hardened tubes were left behind. This opportunity would be a great chance for students to learn and grow.

Education wise the trip would provide several learning benefits such as learning about lava, igneous rock and

As www.marinebio.net states, Wailea-Makena, Hawaii, East Maui County was caused by a hotspot or an extra hot plume of molten rock. This happens when heat rises as a thermal cloud from inside of the Earth. Heat and pressure at the bottom of the tectonic plate forces magma to form which then rises through cracks and erupts to form volcanoes. As volcanoes move away from a hotspot, they start to erode and become inactive. Maui is the third oldest volcano of the main Hawaiian islands and could still erupt one more time. Haleakalā or the East Maui Volcano is also a shield volcano or a broad, domed volcano with sloping sides. It forms more than 75% of the Hawaiian Island of Maui and has an alert level of “normal.” The last time Maui erupted was in the 17th century, but even so, the soil is still very fertile from it’s past eruptions. Thanks to this fertile soil, crops such as coffee, macadamia, papaya, tropical flowers, sugar and fresh pineapple grow here.…

Mesa Verde National Park is a very large park that is located in Montezuma County in Colorado and used to be the home of the Anasazi people many years ago. It is located in the southwestern corner of Colorado (Anderson) and since Mesa Verde is essentially a plateau, it got the name Mesa Verde, which translates to green table in Spanish (Anderson). This area was populated with juniper trees and and pinons and all of that greenery encouraged the Anasazi people to make their homes on top of the plateau and to farm the land (Anderson). The Anasazi people were an ancient people that were known for being nomadic and are best known for building their city in the side of the cliffs and amazingly, those buildings are pretty well preserved today in Mesa Verde National Park. These people have an interesting history and had invested a lot of time and energy into building their homes and after all of that hard work, they just simply vanished without a…

Lava Beds National Monument is contemplated as California's "best kept secret." This notion does not come without reason. The secluded park acquires a small estimated number of 130,000 visitors each year. When compared to Yosemite National Park's 4 million annually visits, National Lava Beds National Monuments appears as a deserted spot overshadowed by its similar neighbor. For this reason, Lava Beds National Monument would make the ideal destination for a field trip. Granted, Lava Beds National Monument being depleted of visitors may not be enough to persuade our principal, who takes their job very seriously, to approve a field trip to the same park. Fortunately, this is not the only reason as to why our principal should approve a field…

The first advantage I'm going to discuss is social. Young teens crave social experiences, that's how they learn morals and more about themselves and others. This could be an eye opener for some students who need that extra social time. Some students need some good memories to replace past bad ones. This trip would obviously be a great social experience for anyone…

Santa Maria’s first recorded eruption was in 1902, it was dormant for at least 500-1000 years before that. When it awoke, it caused seismic swarm activation in many volcanos in the region. There was also a major earthquake along with the many eruptions. The eruption tore most of the south western part of the volcano off and around 5,000 people were killed as a result of it. The volcanic ash fell as far as San Francisco, which is 2,996.8 miles from Santa Maria. The volcano didn’t calm down until three days after the first roars. The volcano was formed when the Cocos plate converged with the Caribbean plate. The Cocos plate moves under the Caribbean plate this process is called subduction. When Cocos melts, hot magma rises…

    Please dont let me die

Situations can change very quickly, especially within a healthcare facility. The nursing staff within a nursing home carries the responsibility of always watching and monitoring the environment to assure the residents are comfortable and cared for in the home. The ethical problem in “Please Don’t Let Me Die” case is malpractice. The nursing staff neglected to care for a patient noticeably in need and continually asking for help. Additionally, the three registered nursed were negligent. The two nurses found culpable in Loren Richard’s death had not successfully overseen the nursing staff to assure the team was following the standard of care. Regardless to the state of the floor prior to the three nurses taking a break, the registered nurses are responsible for the coverage of the floor and care for the patients for the duration of their break. If I had been one of the three registered nurses I would have been mindful of my responsibility and would have scheduled the breaks at different times to assure at least one registered nurse was present on the floor at all times. Additionally, I would have responded to Loren Richard’s cries for help and helped him get the necessary treatment.…

Have you ever heard of Mauna Loa? Rising gradually to more than 4 km above sea level, Mauna Loa is the largest volcano on our planet. Its long submarine flanks descend to the sea floor an additional 5 km, and the sea floor in turn is depressed by Mauna Loa's great mass another 8 km. This makes the volcano's summit about 17 km (56,000 ft) above its base! The enormous volcano covers half of the Island of Hawaii and by itself amounts to about 85 percent of all the other Hawaiian Islands combined. Now let's get to finding out about lava.…
