Laws of Life Essay
Question: With persistence and time, we can overcome any problem.
Problems are something that people face in everyday life, no matter the time or place. To every problem there is an occurring solution. Persistence is the fact of continuing in an opinion or course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition. It is said by Colin Powell that, “Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence.” Though normal people may experience problems on a daily basis, there have been great historians in the world who have solved problems through persistence and time. A major example of a great historian is The Late Honorable Sir Lynden Oscar Pindling. Pindling fought for the equality of blacks in politics in The Bahamas. Sir Lynden Pindling is known primarily from Black Tuesday. The day when he overcame all odds and threw the prestigious Speakers Mace out of the House of Assembly. However, his problem wasn’t solved yet. It took persistence and time, because of Sir Lynden’s brave actions, the Progressive Liberal Party were finally given the chance to be elected into the House of Assembly as the governing party. What this has shown many Bahamians is that you don’t ever deflate a situation due to the amount of difficulty that you have faced. Persistence comes with few steps. Firstly, you must set the goal. Without doing this there would be nothing to look after. Secondly, break down the goal into smaller pieces so that it will be easier to manage and easier to accomplish. As a child, my father always told me, don’t throw all your eggs in one basket. This means, don’t jump into the goal as if it’s easy, take little steps to guide your way through. Finally, make it fun. In today’s generation, any device that catches the eye of a teenager can distract them from any dream made. However, nothing in life comes easy and it is definitely not perfect, therefore, just being persistent can solve
