Reasons for the failure of the League:
THE CONFRENCE OF AMABSADORS- crippled the League of Nations, took power from the League of nations.
Russian was not invited to take part in the peace conference.
Russia and Germany allied themselves.
The poles took advantage of the Russian civil war by invading the Ukraine.
German tried to exploit the divisions of the British and French.
The French wanted Poland to take control over Danzing while the British wanted the Germans to have it.
Invasion of the Ruhr:
It ended the French policy of trying to enforce the terms of the treaty by force.
In 1936 when Hitler rearmed the Rhineland, if the French had responded, Hitler would have fallen from power and humiliated. They did not act because they were criticized by the British and American response to their action in 1923
