Abortion should not be legal
In South Africa

Abortions date back to as far as the 1840’s and is still one of the most often performed procedures in South Africa. There have been many cases of women dying after having a “backstreet” abortion (an abortion that happens in an unsafe environment and procedure is performed by an inexperienced doctor). Even if abortion was illegal there are still going to be “backstreet” abortions and many women would still be in danger.

An abortion is the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus, which causes it to die. There are the pros and cons regarding the legalization of abortions. The good side to having an abortion is that if a woman is raped and does not want any reminder of the incident then abortions should be legal. Rape can cause serious damage to the self confidence of a woman and is something she would want to forget, and having a baby from someone that raped you is not something a woman would not want to be reminded of. The child will also grow up knowing that they were a mistake and that is not a life any child should have to live. So in that case abortions should be legal.

The bad side to abortions is that many uneducated women are using abortion as a contraceptive. Every time the woman gets pregnant she goes and has an abortion. Instead of having protected sex or not having sex at all, they have abortions so they don’t have babies. This is very wrong because they are abusing abortions. If the women can’t afford the correct contraceptives prescribed by the doctors they should not be getting pregnant because they know they don’t want the child or they can’t afford it. So in this case abortion should not be legal.

The other bad side of abortions is that there are “backstreet” abortions where an inexperienced person performs the abortion. These abortions usually take place in unhygienic areas and the

A big controversy throughout the United States is about abortion and whether or not it should be illegal. People who are against abortion are called pro-life. Supporters of abortion are called pro-choice. Both sides have very strong and argumentative points and can even start disputes between friends. A couple of ways that abortion can be seen as a good thing is that nearly all abortions take place within the first trimester of the pregnancy, teenage mothers will most likely not have a good future, and every woman has the right to choose what to do with her own body. I believe that every woman has the right of choice which makes me pro-choice.…

People who choose to have abortions done, most of them probably do not know how it is done, or they just do not care due to their own selfishness and ignorance. There are different excuses that they use for having abortions. People who are pro-choice think that a person or mother has the right to do as she chooses with her own body (Being Pro-Choice). They believe that an embryo is not a human and has no rights of their own. Pro-choice campaigners argue that the surgical procedure is completely safe and harmless (Lowen). This is false. Choosing to have an abortion is putting a woman’s body at risk. A mother can have serious complications that can affect their health and their future pregnancies, if able to be pregnant again…

Abortion by definition is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Wrong! Abortion simply means murder. Right! Abortion is just wrong. First and foremost, abortion allows a woman the right to her own body. Some say that abortion should not be used as a form of contraception, but birth control fails daily. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 6% of all birth controls fail each year. Women on birth control tend to disregard the chance of getting pregnant since the percentage is so low, therefore, the only protection they choose to utilize is the birth control. Women should remain to have the option to abort an undesired fetus. Along with contraception issues, there are other factors to reason with to keep abortion legal.…
