From onset, relationships are complicated arrangements due to the fact that two people from different or unique backgrounds and life experiences are uniting in effort to satisfy interpersonal needs that each other may have. Communication becomes the driving factor in the relationship effort as the two work to fulfill a human desire. Regardless of culture there is a personal need for emotional communication and understanding. You are communicating so that you can connect and share meaning with one another. As you set out to build a new life together you will have to communicate. The goal is to assist you in learning what communication is, how to not take communication between the two of you for granted, the common misconceptions in communicating and the different types of communication you may encounter with each other. Communication is human nature and we have been doing it since we were born so it is natural to believe that when we enter a marriage we are going to communicate. Communication with one another is very important, whether that communication is verbal or non-verbal we desire it. It is a way for us to interact with each other and grow close together. Interpersonal communication is the most standard type of communication in life because interpersonal communication happens between two people, in your case soon to be husband and wife. As time goes on and you come to know each other better, you will learn the non-verbal ways you communicate and there meaning to one another. As a wife you in time you will learn your husband’s body language; is he tired when he walks through the door, or was it a rough day at work, as a husband you will learn the same things about your wife. In learning these non-verbal signs of communication about each other it will help each of you to learn different ways to communicate with one another , for instances if one is having
