Letter of Intent
January 15, 2013

Dallas Baptist University
Admissions Department
3000 Mountain Creek Parkway
Dallas, TX 75211

To whom this may concern,
I, am writing this “Letter of Intent” to be enrolled in the Higher Education/Kinesiology Dual Masters program for the Spring 2012-13 school year. I began your institution in the Fall of the 2011-12 school year after losing employment at Metro Academy of Math and Science due to the school being permanently closed. I wanted to take full advantage of my time by continuing my education at Dallas Baptist to earn my Masters Degree in Kinesiology, however during pursuing my potential career opportunities and sorting through job requirements, I have learned that the Higher Education/Kinesiology Dual plan would open more opportunities for my potential employment. In my research, I have found that in my primary field interest of Kinesiology, that there is not a high demand in jobs which equals to less employment opportunities but with the combination of Higher Education opens a wider range to choose from. I would like to base my career path off my educational background along with my experience. I have found many people; myself included, have a difficult time finding employment in our education background and begin to work in a different field. I would like to prevent this trend from happening to me by creating more opportunity to myself by enrolling in the Higher Education/Kinesiology Dual program. I appreciate your time and efforts by considering my proposal. If you have any questions or concerns please contact by the information listed below.

The following persuasive piece will be written in the form of a speech to be presented at a school assembly. Addressing the prompt - we conform to stereotypes and expectations far more than we think - this speech will investigate the colossal impact that societal expectations and stereotypical norms have on a person’s identity and show the true extent to which we subconsciously conform to them. My speech contends that we simply accept what the majority and masses do as ‘the norm’ and conform to said norm without even thinking twice about it and that in doing this, we limit our ability to be individuals.…

I am writing to express my keen interest in the position of assistant manager at Pandora Jewelry. The job description you have provided for this position is an ideal match with my skills and qualifications. My love for Pandora started when I got my first high school job at 17, where I was merchandising the store as well as selling. My integrity was displayed when I took on the responsibilities of being a key holder. My duties consisted of, opening and closing the store, dealing with the nightly deposits, and making sure everything is locked up safe and sound. After I graduated high school I decided to enroll at Austin Community College in Austin, TX. Once I started seeking employment the first place that came to mind was Pandora. I searched online to find out where the store was located and was shocked to see it that it was in a mall. When I approached the store I was a bit intimidated by its size. Keep in mind the store I had previously worked was less than half of its size! I walked in and was immediately greeted by the sweetest girl named Whitney. I told her I was out looking for a job and this was my first stop. I informed her about all of my experience and when I mentioned I worked on the visuals she stopped me and said, how perfect…that’s what I do and I will leaving soon. I filled an application out that day and got the job two weeks later. Since being employed at Barton Creek I have successfully met all goals while maintained great customer service. The store offers different incentives through out the year; one being if you maintained an ADS higher than $130.00 you got an iPad mini. I was the sole recipient to the iPad mini. One of my biggest assets is my ability to effectively communicate with management, other associates, and customers. With The 5 years of experience that I’ve gained through Pandora I am confident that I have what it takes to be an excellent Assistant Manager.…

The general area of my project was the first parole system, which was created in 1861. Today the system of the United States is heading towards a down fall. This is so by giving the most dangerous incarcerated parole due to the overcrowding in the prison system. To build my knowledge base I have found and read books about the American Federal System, and ultimately it led me to how the parole system is set up and how probation works. What I already knew about my topic was that making parole gives you a little bit of freedom, but having certain limits and that it was first created in 1861. With being a parolee you can only go a certain amount of distance from your home. Instead of having fun and being out at late as you want, you will be given a curfew to when you have to be inside for the night.…
